Alpha Insurance signs MVP Himzon, adds firepower with San Andres, Bautista

Alpha Insurance reloaded for the next Spikers’ Turf conference, signing three NCAA standouts headlined by Vince Himzon.

Himzon, the 2023 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference MVP with Colegio de San Juan de Letran, will fortify the middle blocker rotation of the Protectors.

The 6-foot-1 high-scoring middle was the NCAA Season 98 Rookie of the Year and a three-time Best Middle Blocker during his time with the Knights.

Alpha Insurance, a squad that joined the country’s premier men’s league last 2025 Open Conference, also secured Letran’s Derrick “Bembem” Bautista and Mapua’s Benedict “Barbie” San Andres to enhance their wing position.

San Andres was no stranger to the Spikers’ Turf, having been a part of the VNS Griffins and the D’Navigators in past conferences.

The former Cardinal was a two-time Best Outside Hitter in the NCAA and has proven himself as a spiker who can also contribute to floor defense.

Bautista, on the other hand, flourished in the recently concluded Season 100 of the NCAA, emerging as one of Letran’s go-to hitters in its silver finish.

The 6-foot-2 outside spiker was also part of the Knights squad in the 2023 Invitational that had a surprising fourth-place finish in the 24-team field.
